TEWANTIN NOOSA BOWLS with Les Armstrong.
After the previous week's break from bowls because of rain, the sun finally shone and allowed our bowlers to complete their normal program. Super Challenge matches resumed after the Australia Day holiday and our Silver and Bronze teams had mixed results. Our Silver men's and ladies' team were away to Maroochy Swan which is now playing in Silver following many years in the Gold division. Although losing 0-94 to 5-139 our men held their own and gave a strong performance. Our fours lost after playing an extra end. The Silver ladies reversed the trend and continued on their winning way 2-43 to 0-35.

A unique situation occurred in the Bronze men's match when we were at home to Geebung. The Manthey family was well and truly represented with grand father Kevin skipping the triples for Tewantin Noosa, his nephew Laurie leading for the Geebung pairs and his great grandson James, leading for the Geebung fours. This family is ensuring the game of bowls continues to flourish and they have further members emerging. Geebung won the day 3-124 to 2-109. Our triples won well and our fours were winners. Our Bronze ladies went down 0-33 to 2-55 after bowling competitively against a very experienced team.
